The Memorial at the Ramlingen Cemetery
This website was created to provide more detailed information about the names on the memorial plaques when the memorial was extended to include victims of war and the Nazi era who were not yet visible there.
It is currently still under construction and will be supplemented with further articles in the coming weeks. But there will also be additions in the future – as envisaged by the expansion concept.
Memorial
The history of the memorial to the fallen goes back 100 years. It was dedicated in 1925 – almost at the same time as the ‘new’ cemetery – in the wooded area on the western outskirts of Ramlingen.
People
Behind the names on the memorial and the bronze plaques are people and families who have suffered a loss. And the stories could not be more different.
Dialogue
The memorial and its extension are not a commemoration chiselled in stone, frozen in time, but enable a living remembrance because people talk about it.
